VISIT OF ST. NICHOLAS, 2009
On Sunday December 13th, St. Nicholas made his annual visit to the children of St. George Parish. The event was held at Lviv Hall, which was filled with hundreds of people and many excited youngsters. Prior to the Saint's arrival, the children of the St. George Catechism Programme performed a play, "Emmanuel" (see photos), and the Lviv Dancers, dressed in colourful costumes, performed lively and entertaining Ukrainian dances. Before distributing his gifts, Saint Nicholas encouraged all the children to be good, to obey their parents, to remember to say their prayers and to come to church on Sundays. (See more photos below.)

On Tuesday, December 15, St. Nicholas, accompanied by one of his angels. visited the kitchen of Lviv Hall, where approximately 40 ladies and a half a dozen gentlemen were hard at work, making pyrohy and holubsti for their weekly fund-raising sales. The workers were surprised and delighted to see the Saint. St. Nicholas thanked them for their dedication and handed out bags of goodies to everyone.(See more photos below.)

Later that afternoon, St. Nicholas made another stop at the Sadochok, which operates in the lower level of St. George Church. There the youngest members of the Ukrainian community greeted him with charming songs and dances and shyly received gifts from the beloved Saint. (See more photos below.)
